Originally made by a talented and experienced craftsman in the older monk's style flutes of the Edo Period with rectangular shaped finger holes.  This flute has a rich vibratory tone and very responsive. It' warm for I tropective meditative playing and yet chirps like a bird for those who like playing in the second octave outdoors.
Tensei is my line of restored Japanese made flutes. I collected this one in 2003 in Japan when I was on my Japan United States Friendship Commission grant to study shakuhachi making. In Japanese, Tensei translates to "rebirth of music". I am proud and humbled to be able to offer these flutes a second life in my low-impact approach to repairs.   It can handle all the traditional fingerings of shakuhachi music. It is relatively easy and friendly as far as shakuhachi goes. USPS International usps priority express is .
This flute come with a generous audition period with a lifetime guarantee. In 2002 I received the Japan United States Friendship Commission to study shakuhachi making and playing in Japan under Kinya Sogawa, who apprenticed with Chikusen Tamai, who also trained many of the top professional shakuhachi makers in Japan today. I understand how difficult it is to find the right instrument. You can also google my name and yungflutes for videos, blog and much more information. I would be happy to send a video demo of this flute. Because I am a repair person, I can offer fine restored shakuhachi flutes well below the market price. I've been making and selling shakuhachi for over 25 years, the first to sell wehn ebay came around. I know how difficult it is to find the right flute. Please search my name and yungflutes to learn more about my craft and how my flutes can help your local food bank. Thank for looking, Perry
