About Key Tags:
Most key tags in commercial application are used with key cabinets (although they don't need to be).  Most key tags are mounted for storage in key cabinets in one of two ways: the keys can either be hung on a series of horizontal bars inside the cabinet, or on a series of hooks inside the cabinet.  The slot on this item's tag is used to slide over the bar, so the ring and the keys hang off the slotted tag below the bar.  Most slotted tags are white and unnumbered, but occasionally numbered tags are found for purposes of maximum key control and auditability.  Ours are white and unnumbered.  If a slotted tag isn't used, then the ring itself is hung from a hook.  In this case, the two most popular options are window tags or ring tags.  Ring tags are small, usually white but sometimes red and extremely inexpensive.  Window tags are often multiple colors and have a "window", into which a piece of paper or card can be inserted, that is writeable for key(s) identification.  It's all a matter of preference, but window tags are generally looked on favorably as they are brighter and may look a little nicer/less dull or office-like.
